A reader who’ll try anything once, including bad books in search of good ones. Eclectic as her tastes are, she tends to gravitate to historical romances, realistic contemporaries, and some fantasy novels.
This book succeeds or fails on language, and for me it failed. Davis has a distinctive voice but rather than enchanting, I saw it as an attempt to disguise genuinely horrid writing and poor story telling. The number of loins and male lusts in the 22% I read was staggering.
Not going to carry on with this book or author to the New Year.
